Se puede presentar infecci\u00f3n de las enc\u00edas, alguna fisura imperceptible, por desplazamiento de la pieza y presi\u00f3n con otra, o por exceso de sarro entre las piezas dentales.\u00a0 Tambi\u00e9n se dan casos donde\u00a0 el paciente aprieta demasiado los dientes en determinados momentos del d\u00eda.\u00a0 Por supuesto las caries no tratadas, que producen perforaci\u00f3n y exposici\u00f3n de los nervios producen dolor intenso. Para todo esto se pueden buscar opciones de tratamiento para tratar de salvar la pieza dental, evitar que pierda su color o est\u00e9tica.
